MDA Reminds Pest Control Firms to Complete Renewals by June 30

The Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Pesticide Regulation Section is reminding pest control firms to complete their renewals by June 30 and review several key items that may affect licensing, certification, and communication with the department.

Firms should make sure their renewal is submitted on time and that all employee records are accurate. If an employee still works for your company, do not remove that person from your roster simply because they still need credits. Instead, contact MDA’s Pesticide Regulation Section for guidance. This helps avoid problems with employee records and certification tracking.

MDA also reminds firms to check their certificate of insurance carefully. The Maryland Department of Agriculture must be listed as the certificate holder, and the full Annapolis address should be included:

Maryland Department of Agriculture
Pesticide Regulation Section
50 Harry S. Truman Parkway
Annapolis, MD 21401

Before submitting, confirm that the certificate is complete and matches MDA’s requirements. Missing or incorrect certificate holder information may delay processing.

MDA also expects new regulations and exams to be released this summer. Firms should watch for updates and make sure the right people in the company are receiving MDA emails and mailed notices. If you have not received recent communication from MDA, contact the department to confirm that your company’s mailing address, email address, and other contact information are correct.

Companies that need new ID cards should complete the required form and email a current photo with the request. Photos should clearly show the applicant’s face. Do not submit photos with hats or sunglasses.

For questions about renewals, credits, employee records, insurance certificates, contact information, or ID cards, contact MDA’s Pesticide Regulation Section before the June 30 renewal deadline at pest.reg@maryland.gov or 410-841-5710.
